Basically, the Charles Daly Model 500 field gun lived up to its namesake. It is a very good shotgun that was under priced when new and is still undervalued on today's used market. If you find a used one in good condition, buy it. IDNR bought 20 Charles Daly's 28 ga semi's for Hunter Safety classes, the guns were well maintained and had to be replaced by 1100's within the first year. Just didn't work and really didn't have to stand the pounding that a good trap gun does in a month in their short tour of duty.
