I use the Vickers magazine release on my G30SF (and on all my Glocks). The extended mag release is too long, I think, especially shooting left handed. The Vickers is a mid-length release, and is subtly rounded on the edges to make is easier on the hand.

The 30S is a 30SF frame with a slimmer slide (perhaps the 36's slide, I'm not sure). A regular 30 will have the regular width slide. Gen 4 means it will come with backstraps for the grip (I personally like the beavertail ones), better texture on the grip, three magazines, and a different recoil spring assembly (not necessarily better). 2.Go with the Gen4. I`m in the same arena as 360joules. I have a G30S and the G29-4. I like the option of swapping things. But i always gravitate to the G4 frame every time. I like the G4 frame and grip much better over the G3 grips & frames. If (SOMEDAY) glock comes out with the G30S & G29 in a G5, i`m all in. And i`ll still keep my previous gens.

The G30SF frame assembly Slide Stop Lever is designed to work with a Slide that is 1.12 inches wide and that does not properly engage the 1.00-inch wide G36 Slide. The G36 SSL does not fit the G30SF frame. It took until 2013 for Glock to make the 30793 SSL that fits a G30SF frame and properly engages a 1.00-inch Slide.
I would not consider the G30 at all. I have also shot and tested a G30SF, and again, an excellent weapon, BUT, if you plan to carry IWB, this gun is a little thick to carry.
