The Ruger PC Carbine is heavy – noticeably heavier than other 9mm carbines. In general, heavier is not ideal but it is even more of an issue when the firearm takes down for easy storage in a backpack for hiking – heavy is not good. Some of this comes from the dead blow action intended to soften recoil.
