Problems officially solved/concluded. Called up GrabAGun to see about switching my order up and they offered me the Tikka T3 Tac A1 in 6.5 for $1500 out the door including the shipping. That was a no brainer - figured i would end up around $1300-1400 by the time i swapped out barrels and fiddled with the RPR.The tikka is better over all. You can get a full howa set up for under 300. A base tikka will run 500-600. I don’t think the tikka is 2x as good as howa but not everything in life is linear, you pay more of a premium for better stuff.

Couldn't say one shoots better than the other. I'd suspect with the heavier barrel the CTR would do better for longer strings of fire vs the Lite as the barrel gets hotter. Haven't tested that, so just a theory. The Lite does have noticeably more felt recoil being 2 lbs lighter than my CTR setup.Jun 19, 2019 · Both shoot lights out. Thats a big difference for a blue collar dude like me for a rifle that's not likley to shoot better, and possibly even worse. I'm not paying $1000 to say my rifle is "smoother". You can see those results over in my T1x review. In that test, the best performing ammunition was Lapua Center-X, with an average group of .442″ at 50 yards. With the Oryx Chassis, that shank by 37% to .34″ at 50 yards. The only way I would by 1500 over t3X is if I wanted to shoot 25-06 or the like out of a 24" barrel instead of 22" (which is why I have my 1500).
