There are new aftermarket heads around that are priced cheap enough.

Nov 27, 2010. #1. Redoing my farmall M i purchassed and found some water in my oil so i pulled the head off. The serial stamps the engine to be a Plain old M but someone must of bored it out to a Super M because my piston bore size is 3.999 inches. I need to get a new head gasket but don"t know what to get.Put manifold pictures on. 3 rib 450 gas, painted tractor 400 gas, LP tractor one started on late M, used SM and SMTA gas and LP on SM. Unpainted tractor one used on most M tractors. Would need to check but going by memory I don't think the LP manifold pictured in other post started until part of the SM LP tractors.
