My friend fell for the NSHSS Scam. My friend randomly asked me if I got one (I didn’t) and I, not knowing that she already paid for it, said it was kind of considered a scam. She was listing all the reasons that she’s heard it’s good (website says it not, seniors say it’s good, etc) and she told me she already paid for it. It's frankly just not worth it. No college is going to applaud you for giving NSHSS $70 so your parent can have an iconic "parent of a high school scholar" bumper sticker.
