Nissan xterra vdc off slip reset.

Stopped for gas on the way home from work and when I started it up again, the following lights stayed on: VDC Off, SLIP, Service Engine Soon. Not good. So I tried to pull away from the pump and nothing... no power. Not even a rev from stepping on the pedal. I roll the car away on idle power and pull to the side.I have a 08 S with about 2500 miles on it. My VDC off and SLIP light came on when I started the Xterra today and never went off. I drove about 50-60 miles running errands, starting and stopping a few times and the light still won't go off.After taking the clock spring out a few times and studying the issue, I noticed that the steering wheel/the alignment was off-center. If you read about the VDC, you will find that it is integral to the angle sensor. even went through the fsm for the vdc and slip light diagnosis and troubleshooting looks like i will need a nissan consult computer as it either has my steering angle or decel/g sensor calibration out of whack as reading through both the troubleshooting steps i can confirm my abs system does work, the fluid is full, the brakes have been bled …

The result was a bad crank position sensor!! It's a $25 part and was replaced within 1.5 hours!! No more stalling or lights on my dash! Hey all. I am in need of some advice. In the last 2-3 weeks my Xterra started having some issues: 1) When I am driving around town, and this does it when I am actually driving or stopped at a light, it is feeling like it's "slipping" out of gear and into a lower gear and then the VDC Off /...Any time the battery is disconnected and reconnected, VDC off and SLIP light come on until the steering angle sensor is reset, either by centering the wheel and recalibrating it with the Consult-II system, or by starting the truck with the wheel centered and driving above 10mph for over 10 minutes.Most alignment shops won't do this. If the steering angle sensor is way off, the VDC light will stay on and the system will not work at all. If it is only slightly off, it can confuse the computer. The VDC system uses input from the steering sensor, wheel speed sensors, and yaw rate/side/decel g sensor.

This is most likely the issue. I had these same lights come on in my G35 and after replacing the camshaft sensors, that fixed the issue. Had a similar experience 141k miles 6speed manual, VDC and Slip light stayed on. rough idle and fluctuation rpms when steady on the gas. Local mechanic replaced crankshaft position sensor and all was good!

Pull your Xterra to an area where you can drive straight ahead without turning the wheel for a couple hundred feet. Have the wheel straight. Turn off engine. Restart engine and pull straight ahead in drive. Light should go off in a couple hundred feet. The book is not too clear on this.

GJBenn85. My QX is my third Infiniti and every single one has occasionally had a problem where the VDC/SLIP/BRAKE lights come on. It is extremely common the FX. The owner's manual says they come on when a fault is detected with the ABS, but I have not had any problems with the brakes on any of the cars.
