Aug 23, 2020 · Finally decided on some Ohlins 774s Blackline. Problems from the start. For about 5 months I have tried to contact Ohlins. Covid, whatever. they proclaimed to open again at beginning of July. Its now end of August. I really wanted to buy some shocks, you know, spend a grand on two shocks. I heard they were good, but Ill never know. My Builder recommends Pro-Action and he can do the entire job for less than the Ohlins. With the Ohlins I would have to do all the work myself. The Factory for the Pro-Action is only 4 hrs away, American Made and Lifetime warranty. Ohlins Made overseas with a 1 year warranty. It's not like you will hurt anything by mixing brands but why not have a set tuned to work together. Legend will tell you where you need to have them setup for by weight and riding style instead of making adjustments to figure it out on a mix matched set.

My preference is based totally on looks and with that I rank Pro-Action #1, Ohlins #2 and Legends #3. I like the finish of the Pro-Action shocks and they look more robust than the other two brands. I only rank Ohlins #2 because of the external reservoir. The black finish looks great and matches the theme of our bike.

I have talked to numerous ohlins reps and they say that the oem ohlins is better than the oem showa. the retail ohlins is better than the oem ohlins the main difference is the valving, they have to valve the oem stuff so that it is safe to the ignorant aka lawyer proof.
