Any you find before speaking to Vex or Maul are the two people in Riften that'll ID them will be stacked and any after the official start of No Stone Unturned will be listed individually. I am playing with a modpack right now and when i activate the quest for barenziah stones, it shows me locations of each stone on the map, pic related.
