I never liked the factory buckhorn & replaced it with a Skinner barrel sight. Now, at its lowest position, and aiming 6 o'clock ( pumpkin on a post) i'm still shooting 6 ...Rossi Rifleman. FWIW, I was able to zero my Rossi M-92 with the issue height front sight blade because I used a receiver sight meant for an Angle-Eject Winchester 94, D/T'ing a single hole atop each receiver sidewall. That sight carries the horizontal aperture bar behind the sight base, allowing the arm to be much lower - almost touching the top of the bolt.I have on older (pre top bolt safety) Rossi 92 in 45 colt. I really like this rifle, the 1/2 round 1/2 octagon barrel is classy, the wood actually has some grain in it, and the trigger is nice and light. My only complaint about the rifle is the junky looking rear sight. I would like to replace it with a more traditional looking semi or full buckhorn style sight.My old Rossi 92 had an OEM flat top rear sight and I switched it over to the new semi buckhorn that my 73 came with. I've seen a new 92 that came stock w/ that same semi buckhorn. My old 92 has a larger dovetail so my replacement semi buckhorn fits in the dovetail extremely loose.
