NFF is remarkably bug free in comparison and I think it’s even possible to uninstall without too much consequence to your game. The cherry on top is, it plays well with non generic followers like Serana and other modded followers. I've used nearly all of the follower frameworks over the years: UFO, EFF, I/AFT, etc.
