This is also something that is not very common on these Duramax engines but it happens more often than an ECM issue. The most common problem on the Duramax is the EGR. That and head gasket issues. I have a 2006 LBZ with 220,000 miles, I have the EFI Live with DSP 5, installed new injectors last year, blew an exhaust coolant line, the 4" incher that you have to pull evertything so when I did I pulled the Y bridge, EGR, cooler and totally cleaned everything inside and out. EGR delete by my definition is complete removal of system components which is a highly invasive and unnecessary procedure. It also requires ECM programming to deal with the DTC’s associated with removal of the EGR motor.
