Here is what I would do, if I where to feel it was necessary to remove the sump plug. Drain the oil tank, then remove the sump plug, let it drain and measure the oil that came out of the sump. I have 2K Fatboy owners manual and according to that: oiltank w filter 3.5 qt. transmission (approximation) 24 US oz. primary chain case (approximation) 26 US oz. I suppose 02 is the same. No experience yet about oil weight. Just got my first Harley, Fatboy, yesterday.

The lack of info may be used to keep their customers using their oils instead of other oil companies. I check to make sure the oil is somewhere on the stick. If it is I ride the bike to fully warm it up and let it run on the side stand a minute or two.
