Don't own any myself, but that to ask if that was your case. Only slightly depress the insert and the pull the floor plate forward.

When I clear the gun, pull the trigger, and pull the slide back and pull the takedowns, I can get the slide to go forward but it does not slide off like every other Glock I own.
