As it won't "vent" at that low of a coolant level, I believe you are losing it from either the water pump or possibly heater core.

The clamp is effective only if both the inside of the hose and the outside of the nipple are smooth so the pressure is applied evenly.Let it cool down and it made it the last 7 miles without any issues at 214*F. The coolant system is still holding pressure. I checked the coolant level when it was hot and it was pretty high, easily above the fill line. Sounds like the system is not bled up correctly. You need to hold the engine engine up at 2000 rpm for a minute to get all the air out of the heater core and engine. It's nearly impossible to fill the Cruze's coolant and get all the air bubbles out so they work their way out as you drive. You'll need to put more coolant in in a few weeks simply to replace the air that's worked it's way out of the system.

When I looked at my cap it seemed that the seal is created by an o-ring around the "shaft" of the cap that seals against the inside of the coolant tank neck.
