You need to put yourself out there. When I first started playing, I was lucky. An old friend needed a women’s partner and there I was. However, I realize that is not the case for many….and in fact, was not always the case for me.

One of the problems many players have is crowding the ball. At some point, we all get to close to the ball and don't have the space we need to make good contact. When this happens we have a tendency to pop the ball up and allow our weight to fall backward.

Obviously, on a lob serve or lob return, you are required to let it bounce….but there is no need for you to wait for it to rise to its apex and then descend again before you hit it.
